- ➤ The KONP Home Show invites businesses to exhibit at Port Angeles High School on Saturday, March 14, and Sunday, March 15. The two-day event offers vendors direct access to local homeowners through displays, giveaways, and prize drawings. My Clallam County
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Superintendent Dave Bingham, who has served for 41 years as teacher, coach and administrator in the Crescent School District, will retire in June after a career that began at Port Angeles High School and led to improvements in school facilities funded by timber revenues. Peninsula Daily News
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Makah Tribe received an $823,000 grant from BoatUS Foundation + NOAA to remove 10 abandoned and derelict vessels from Port of Neah Bay. Removals will begin late this spring after environmental guidelines are approved to reduce pollution and boost local economic and cultural efforts. Peninsula Daily News

- ➤ Clallam Public Utility District announced that electricity rates will rise 3.75% on April 1 for nearly 37,000 customers and water and wastewater rates will increase on March 1, driven by higher operational costs and infrastructure plans including a new Port Angeles Operations Center. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Women who travel for cancer treatment may receive reimbursement for travel costs through the Kathleen Sutton Fund, part of the Peninsula Home Fund administered by Olympic View Community Foundation; applications will be accepted until mid-February with awards announced in April (the program received more than $101,000 in donations this cycle).
