Pending county approval, upgrades worth about $290,000 will improve the rodeo arena at the fairgrounds by updating lighting, cattle chutes, and swinging gates & adding safety measures before the rodeo season.
The state grant will cover $250K while the local rodeo association contributes sweat equity.

Former Roughrider Eve Burke led the Linfield Wildcats (15-2 overall) as former Peninsula Pirates Shania Moanunu and Ciera Agasiva boosted the Northern Lights (13-6 season).
The Roughrider girls and boys will face North Kitsap tonight at 7:00 p.m. in local matchups.
