- ➤ At last Saturday’s Port Angeles Community Awards Gala at Field Arts & Events Hall, local leaders were honored including John Fox, who received Citizen of the Year after his November accident. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Nearly 30% of Clallam PUD customers, about 11,000, are without power today after a tree damaged the Port Angeles East Transmission feeder near Morse Creek and crews are assessing repairs with no set time for restoration. My Clallam County
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ WSDOT finished a project that spanned several years to improve fish migration under Highway 101 east of Sequim. The work replaced aging culverts with five new bridges and improved streambeds along 15 miles of habitat, and one roadway repair is planned when warmer weather arrives. My Clallam County
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Clallam Transit is proposing major route changes in Port Angeles with two new pilot routes; one serves the Lower Elwha area along Highway 101 and the other, named Deer Park, improves in-town coverage. - ➤ Dr. Allison Berry said flu cases are rising due to a mutated H3N2 virus, and RSV and COVID-19 activity is up; vaccination rates in Jefferson County have helped, while six travel-linked measles cases have been reported in Snohomish County with no local spread (HIPAA rules protect patient data).
