- ➤ Hundreds gathered at the Coho Ferry terminal Thursday to welcome back the ferry and its Canadian passengers with banners and live music. City officials and community leaders attended the event (86 cars and 52 walk-ons were aboard) to celebrate strong cultural and economic ties across the border. My Clallam County
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Lauren Erickson, the first female Clallam County Superior Court judge and former Port Angeles City Council member, died Tuesday as reported by the court. Gov. Inslee had appointed her in 2019, and she had built a career in private practice and several legal roles. Peninsula Daily News
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Olympic Medical Center revised its timeline to finalize the nonbinding agreement with UW Medicine, moving the deadline to Aug. 31; part of the revision reduced cost burden by having UW pay $200,000 toward the required assessment. The assessment is now scheduled to begin in December and finish by January. Peninsula Daily News
