- ➤ Today, Clallam County Fire District 1 accepted a $1,000 donation from Ed Bedford of Bedford’s Craft Sodas to support its swiftwater rescue program and jet boat purchase in Port Angeles. The donation honors John Brewer (the former publisher) and follows several boat flips this winter. Peninsula Daily News
- ➤ Port Angeles’ Nor’Wester Rotary Club, the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe and city Parks and Rec will dedicate a Peace Pole at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pebble Beach Park at Front and Oak — the pole bears the message 'May Peace Prevail on Earth' in eight languages and residents can join for cookies and coffee. - ➤ Port Angeles surveyed residents for design ideas on the Laurel Street Stairs Replacement Project in early March and received 900 responses split evenly between Monumental Stairs and Community Plaza.
