EDUCATION NEWS

  • Renovations are underway at the Clallam Bay Corrections Center library branch as officials prepare to reopen it with a new collection and reentry resources for patrons. The facility, closed for six years, is set to open this fall.  Peninsula Daily News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • A landslide closed a section of the Olympic Discovery Trail today from the old Rayonier Mill site to the Morse Creek trestle near Four Seasons Ranch. City crews + the Peninsula Trails Coalition are monitoring the damage and will clear the trail once conditions improve.  My Clallam County
  • A landslide closed part of the Olympic Discovery Trail from the Rayonier Mill to the Morse Creek trestle east of Port Angeles, leaving it unsafe for pedestrians and cyclists. Parks and Recreation and Peninsula Trails Coalition will monitor repairs while a new maintenance contract (due late April) is negotiated.  Peninsula Daily News

  • The Roughriders dominated Bremerton in high school golf 153 to 252 and secured a 1-0 soccer win with senior Matthew Miller setting a 67-goal record; the team will travel to Kingston Thursday & Peninsula College announced three international soccer recruits and basketball signees starting April 1.  My Clallam County
