The World, the largest private residential ship, is set to visit Port Townsend on July 3 and dock at Port Angeles’ Terminal 1 on July 4 with First Nature Tours coordinating land excursions.

Gov. Bob Ferguson signed the state operating budget on April 1, cutting over a million dollars from recreation agencies and risking full or seasonal closures at 19 campgrounds, including Anderson Lake and Hoh-Oxbow on the Olympic Peninsula — the final list will be released soon.

The Peninsula Pirates women’s soccer team signed Alaska standout Peyton Wheeler, who scored 49 goals in 44 games at Douglas High and begins her senior season in Juneau, while former Neah Bay Red Devil Allie Greene ended her junior season with Haskell University basketball.
