ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Fire crews responded early April 6 to a fire at 382 Lower Elwha Road that burned a detached garage but kept flames from reaching a house 10 feet away— the homeowner evacuated safely and no injuries were reported as Port Angeles Fire Department and Clallam 2 Fire Rescue worked together while the cause remains under investigation. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Fifteen elected members of the Clallam County Charter Review Commission held a town hall at KSQM FM in Sequim to seek public input on changes to the county charter; 77 residents attended with about a dozen speaking for three minutes each on topics such as the county coroner and water steward roles—some voiced disappointment over the lack of direct questions. A second meeting was held on April 1 in Port Angeles and a third is scheduled for tonight at the Crescent Grange in Joyce. Peninsula Daily News
