- ➤ Two people were injured in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 101 near Milepost 271 in Blyn on April 16th when a Honda failed to yield to a Ford due to suspected drug and alcohol use — both drivers were taken to Olympic Medical Center and the Honda driver now faces charges of DUI and possession of a controlled substance. - ➤ Clallam County Sheriff's deputies, Search and Rescue, and Jefferson County Deputies with drones have been searching the woods south of Highway 101 near Blue Mountain Road for 10-year-old Mason Combs, who ran into the forest on Tuesday (he wears a black pizza shirt, grey pants, is 4'3'' tall, and has red hair) and anyone with information is asked to call 9-1-1. - ➤ The Sequim-based Marine and Coastal Research Laboratory (the only DOE lab with marine facilities) presented its research on seaweed and other ocean resources at Joshua’s Restaurant on Tuesday, April 15. Scientists are testing if seaweed can replace glue in wood products to make them stronger and less flammable, and if it can serve as a food alternative. Peninsula Daily News

- ➤ Clallam County Mental Health Court celebrated its third anniversary on April 16th with its largest graduation to date — three participants finished the program. Judge Dave Neupert said the court now has 20 active participants and uses a year-long structure with counseling, medication, and regular check-ins to help people avoid repeated incarceration.
