- ➤ A $185,200 grant from the Arbor Day Foundation will help DNR plant 220,000 seedlings on forestland affected by root rot in Clallam County today. Officials say the effort will use eight native species (including Douglas fir, Western red cedar, Western hemlock, and red alder) to build resilient forests. Peninsula Daily News
