- ➤ The Upper Hoh Road serving the Olympic National Park visitor area for the Hoh Rain Forest will reopen to the public at 12:30 p.m. Thursday after repairs were completed following severe damage from a December storm. A ceremony will take place at noon with Gov. Bob Ferguson and local officials to mark the repair work funded by $623,000 in SRF funds and $23,000 in private donations. Peninsula Daily News
- ➤ Two days into filing week, 31 candidates have filed for 48 open offices in Clallam County and 28 have filed for 42 positions in Jefferson County—local races in Port Angeles include contests for City Council seats and School District director roles with issues like affordable housing and community health in focus. - ➤ Port Angeles Waterfront District is working to boost downtown by applying for the state Main Street Community program in July—an effort to create a vibrant destination for both locals and tourists. Executive director Sam Grello said PAWD has already begun projects such as pressure washing sidewalks and flower planting—steps aimed at reducing vacancies and attracting business.
