- ➤ A 33-year-old Forks man—Tyler D. Ness—died after a falling tree struck him while working at a remote logging site south of Clallam Bay on Wednesday morning when his site supervisor called 911 at about 8:44 a.m. and first responders transported him, though he suffered cardiac arrest en route to a hospital. - ➤ A Clallam County Superior Court judge issued a 14‑day order halting logging in two Elwha River watershed parcels as activists block access by placing debris on roads with a climber on a dunk tank platform. - ➤ Clallam County Sheriff Brian King said that an extra $2 million in the state capital budget has made the new joint Public Safety Facility near the airport financially viable to replace the seismically vulnerable courthouse basement and to house the county’s emergency operations center and PENCOM dispatch center.
