- ➤ The U.S. Coast Guard continued searching overnight near Dungeness Spit for a person believed to have fallen from a kayak after a distress call was received Tuesday — searchers will resume efforts today and ask mariners to remain alert. My Clallam County

- ➤ A suspect was taken into custody Wednesday morning after a message with a possible threat was found in a Port Angeles high school bathroom+ police and school officials quickly increased campus security as the threat was said to be carried out today. Peninsula Daily News

- ➤ A project to install fiber optic cable along 15 miles of Highway 112 is underway to bring high-speed internet to more than 1,500 homes by late 2026. Clallam County, Astound and the County PUD are partnering on the $22 million project—supported by ARPA funds, a state grant and county contributions—to improve service in an underserved area. - ➤ WSU extension offices in Clallam and Jefferson counties lost a key federal program that helped food banks buy fresh produce from local farms. Without this funding, food banks and local farms will have less produce and the Clallam extension office may cancel two research grants—adding uncertainty to future operations. Peninsula Daily News
- ➤ Clallam County and Astound have started work on a $22.2 million fiber optic internet project along the US 112 corridor west of Port Angeles that will provide high speed service to over 1,500 underserved homes.
