At the 36th annual Great Olympic Peninsula Duck Derby on Sunday at City Pier in Port Angeles, Wilder Toyota sales manager Bill Schlichting held up the rubber duck belonging to Colleen Williams—winner of the 2025 Toyota Corolla—after her win.
This event celebrated a long-standing local tradition.
At the 36th annual Great Olympic Peninsula Duck Derby on May 18, over 29,000 rubber ducks were sold at City Pier & funds raised supported local healthcare.
Colleen Williams of Port Angeles won a 2025 Toyota Corolla & other prizes were awarded by local sponsors.
🏛️ Government
The U.S. Highway 101—East Sequim Road project, which would finish the Simdars Road interchange and build frontage roads from Palo Alto and Happy Valley Roads, has been delayed due to a state budget shortfall that removed $27 million in construction funds for the current cycle.
Local officials expect a six-year delay that will raise costs and increase risks at the intersections as the area develops.
