Franklin Elementary was honored through the Washington School Recognition Program for the 2024–2025 school year this week—one of only about 16% of state schools to show strong growth.

Jefferson County Public Health partially lifted the shellfish-harvesting closure in Discovery Bay today after detecting excess biotoxin levels, but butter and varnish clam harvesting remains banned and Sequim Bay stays closed.
