Here's your local news at a glance for Wednesday, the 4th of June.
Good morning, Port Angeles.
🏛️ Government
Clallam County Sheriff Brian King said his main goals are to keep his office stable by retaining staff and recruiting more deputies and nurses.
He is working with local schools and Peninsula College — and he credits body cameras and the HOPE program with lowering complaints and helping people get treatment — to improve public safety.
Clallam County Commissioners support a memorial to honor late Justice Susan Owens who died March 28.
The county will soon evaluate locations and logistics for a bench and plaque near the courthouse flagpole — the Olympic Peninsula Chapter and Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe have shared input on the proposal.
