- ➤ Firefighters from Clallam County responded to a fully involved RV fire in the Lower Elwha area on June 26th after calls reported explosions and propane tanks inside an unoccupied vehicle—no injuries were reported and investigators are probing the cause. My Clallam County
- ➤ Fire crews from Clallam County Fire District 2 and the Port Angeles Fire Department extinguished a fully involved RV fire in the Lower Elwha area Wednesday—using multiple hose lines and establishing a water supply after explosions were heard and possible ammunition and propane tanks were reported—and safely completed a secondary search with no injuries reported. - ➤ Famed Seattle muralist Ryan Ward—known as 'Henry'—surprised local homeowners Sam and Jess Grello by painting a custom Sasquatch mural on their house near Jessie Webster Park, a part of his 1000 Sasquatch Head Mural Project. Sam Grello, who has led the West by Northwest Mural Festival, noted that similar murals have been created in Sequim and Port Townsend and that more artworks will appear in town this summer. - ➤ City of Port Angeles announced on Thursday that glass recycling has returned at the Regional Transfer Station and Blue Mountain Transfer Station—glass will be accepted starting Saturday, June 28. - ➤ Discovery Bay beaches are closed for recreational shellfish harvesting and Sequim Bay is closed for all shellfish species because high levels of paralytic shellfish toxin were found in samples tested by the state Department of Health—shellfish poisoning can cause serious symptoms such as numbness and difficulty breathing.
