- ➤ Fire crews across Clallam County responded to many fire incidents over the holiday weekend as dry, windy conditions and fireworks led to numerous calls. A large fire at the Port Angeles Transfer Station’s metal recycling area started at 5:21 a.m. Sunday, took five hours and 60,000 gallons of water to control, and no injuries were reported — officials warn that fire restrictions remain in effect.
