Lake Cushman recreation sites including Staircase and Fire Service Road FS24 reopen Wednesday after a 12‑month closure from the Bear Gulch fire.
Visitors can use day-use areas and reserve spots at the Staircase Campground while crews complete hazard assessments on some trails.
🎓 Education
Clallam County Master Gardeners are accepting applications for a gardening course starting in October; classes will be online and in-person and require volunteer service.
Applications are due by Sept. 1, with info sessions at Port Angeles Main Library (2210 S. Peabody St.) and Makah Tribal Marina.
