- ➤ Artists Heather Sparks and Zeo Boekbinder painted a fern leaf stencil on a concrete divider along Race Street south of Lauridsen Blvd in Port Angeles as part of a project to beautify the corridor on Wednesday. The project improves traffic lanes, pedestrian and bike lanes — and decorative lighting, with plans to extend similar changes to First and Front streets. Peninsula Daily News

- ➤ Today, the Recreation and Conservation Office awarded $9.2 million in grants statewide to restore coastal habitat, create jobs, and boost community strength — Clallam County received over $1 million for salmon habitat projects and nearly $645,000 was allocated to Jefferson County for local restoration. The funds will support efforts to remove invasive plants, fix river flows and reduce flood risks — measures under the Washington Coast Restoration and Resiliency Initiative started in 2015.
