- ➤ Port Angeles' Washington Forest Practice Board and Department of Ecology will hold a public hearing next week at Vern Burton Gym (308 E. Fourth St.) from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday to get public comments on a rule that would require 100 percent buffering of streams that do not hold fish, with local foresters warning it could remove 200,000 acres of working forest, affect 12,000 jobs, and lower tax revenue.
