GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Clallam County commissioners voted on Monday to put a levy lid lift proposal on the November 4 ballot that will allow property taxes to rise up to 95 cents per $1,000 of assessed value — a mid-range home owner will see about $8 extra per month if it passes as the county faces future budget shortfalls. - ➤ Clallam County voters advanced top candidates in key local races as Penney Sanders, LaTrisha Suggs, Kate Dexter, and Sarah Methner led their contests for the November general election—voters also approved a Fire District 3 property tax levy with 63.9% voting yes, and results remain unofficial until certified.
