- ➤ The Crescent School Board named Ann Renker as Interim Superintendent while Superintendent David Bingham takes medical leave for open heart surgery. Renker will work on campus two days a week starting Tuesday, August 19—her contract will be approved at a special meeting on Monday, August 18 as Bingham plans to return on December 1. - ➤ Port Angeles is asking community members to serve on advisory boards, commissions, and committees—applications must be submitted by noon August 22. The groups work on issues from beautification to public safety and even welcome youth advisors aged 14 to 18. Peninsula Daily News
- ➤ Clallam County is planning energy upgrades at its Administrative Campus and Juvenile Detention Center after audits showed both sites exceed Washington's Clean Buildings Performance Standards.
