Clallam County is funding a $200,000 feasibility study to restore the mouth of Morse Creek near Four Seasons Ranch — a key spot for juvenile salmon — with county commissioners set to review the agreements next week as local property owners help choose a restoration option.
Elwha Legacy Forests Coalition raised $260K in three weeks through crowdfunding to buy timber rights on 13 acres of the Doc Holliday forest in Clallam County, stopping Bruce Webster from logging.

On Tuesday, Aug. 18, Clallam PUD issued a Stage III drought response for water systems in Gales Addition, Mount Angeles, and Monroe to conserve supply; the order bans exterior water use (washing paved surfaces, vehicle rinsing, and lawn irrigation) after the city declared a water shortage on Monday due to low streamflows.
