- ➤ Today, a local group in Clallam Bay is working to save the 1905 keeper’s house owned by the Coast Guard by planning to renovate it into a museum and visitor center to revive local history. They face challenges such as needing a property transfer and hazardous materials remediation costing $824,000—local officials remain optimistic that grants and public support will move the project forward. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Clallam County Board of Commissioners supported sending a letter to state Commissioner Dave Upthegrove about an eight‐month pause on timber sales that cost the county nearly $7.9 million and reduced Joyce area revenue by almost $1 million—commissioners said the loss has hurt family-wage jobs. The meeting also covered programs for low‐risk juvenile offenders and a six‐year transportation improvement plan with a public hearing set for Nov. 4. Peninsula Daily News
