- ➤ Spenser McGinty started as the new executive director of Olympic Peninsula Humane Society on July 7 and brings 10 years of animal welfare experience from Utah. - ➤ An 85-year-old Sequim man, Richard Boyd, was hit at the corner of Lilac Avenue and Highway 101 by 25-year-old Morgen Ballinger driving a Toyota pickup Tuesday evening in Port Angeles and he was flown to Harborview Medical Center after suffering multiple fractures and a brain bleed. - ➤ An 85-year-old man from Sequim was hit around 6:02 p.m. Tuesday on westbound U.S. Highway 101 at Lilac Avenue and taken to Harborview Medical Center after driver Morgen Ballinger—25 of Port Angeles and driving a 2017 Toyota Tacoma—failed to yield at a crosswalk. Peninsula Daily News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Clallam Transit board approved a six-year Transit Development Plan that aligns its goals with state and federal priorities and outlines upcoming service changes such as expanding microtransit in Forks and Sequim. The board also approved a $1 million grant for replacing seven paratransit vehicles and a $3.4 million WSDOT grant for buying new buses — moves that aim to meet growing demand. Peninsula Daily News
