ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ The U.S. Coast Guard, Royal Canadian Air Force and Canadian Coast Guard coordinated two medevacs from the cruise ship Ruby Princess 145 nautical miles west of Cape Flattery on Sunday—one for a 52-year-old woman in cardiac arrest and one for a 99-year-old man with esophageal obstruction. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Port Angeles Police Department is working to have round-the-clock K9 coverage with three officers and their German shepherds—Copper, Solo, and Freddy—and they plan to add another pair to nearly cover 24 hours. The program is funded by donations and grants, including one from Evelyn Beckwith’s estate, and supports training, suspect tracking, and school demonstrations. Peninsula Daily News

- ➤ Clallam County will host International Overdose Awareness day this Sunday at Port Angeles City Pier from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.—the free, family-friendly event offers grief support, Narcan training, creative art stations and quiet remembrance spaces while the Pier tower lights in purple to honor those lost.
