- ➤ Jon Hamilton was chosen Tuesday night to fill the Port Angeles City Council seat after Brendan Meyer resigned effective June 30—Hamilton will be sworn in before the Sept. 16 meeting. He stressed addressing homelessness, housing, ecology and infrastructure as he joined the council while members directed staff to study the city’s links with federal immigration enforcement after a recent ICE raid at Bear Gulch fire. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Olympic Medical Center and UW Medicine signed a non-binding letter of intent yesterday to explore an affiliation that will include a three‐month period for financial and operational review—OMC will also address CMS compliance issues with help from an advisory firm while renewing a $3 million line of credit with First Fed. The move comes after significant financial challenges that affected OMC in recent years and aims to strengthen the hospital's services for the community. Peninsula Daily News
