Here's your local news at a glance for Saturday, the 5th of September.
Good morning, Port Angeles.
🏘️ Community
A fundraiser is being held to support Dixon's Recovery Ranch & Outreach, a new drug addiction recovery organization, on Saturday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Studio Bob (118 1/2 E.
Front St.) with live music by Funkligula and donation receipts available.
📰 Economy
The $35.6M Recompete program is behind on its goal of helping 603 locals secure better income and jobs, with only 21 participants reported through March (delays from a federal shutdown and equipment issues slowed progress).
Coordinators expect outcomes to improve now that mobile training units are fully running.
