Clallam Two Fire Rescue will staff the Dry Creek station 24/7 by early October as emergency calls rise; a modular home is installed next to the station — serving as temporary living quarters for firefighters — ahead of a long-term facility upgrade.

Olympic National Forest will close Forest Service Road 30 from milepost 10 to 13 starting Monday to let work crews repair storm damage from last winter.

The closure is set to end Oct. 16, although changes may occur due to weather and site conditions.

North Olympic History Center Executive Director Brownell said a developer is exploring options for the 1-acre site by the old Lincoln School, with proposals expected during the 6-month exclusive period signed in August + city incentives boost its appeal for affordable housing.
