- ➤ At Tuesday’s Port Angeles Business Association meeting at Jazzy Joshua’s restaurant, incumbent LaTrisha Suggs and challenger James Taylor debated their ideas for City Council seat 1—Suggs urged using tax funds for infrastructure while Taylor argued that the city should focus on protecting current businesses and keep state and federal issues out of council work. They also differed on how to measure city success, with Suggs favoring retail sales and business growth tracking and Taylor calling for a new review panel. Peninsula Daily News
- ➤ The League of Women Voters of Clallam County and the North Olympic Library System are asking residents to email concise questions for candidate forums on November election races, which will be held via Zoom in late September and October—questions must be submitted at least three days before each event.
