- ➤ Researchers from Western Washington University and the Missouri Botanical Garden set up GLORIA observation grids in the Olympic Mountains to track changes in Alpine plants due to climate warming. Professor Eric DeChaine said the team will return every five years—recording plant counts and temperature data at sites near Obstruction Point and Baldy. Peninsula Daily News

- ➤ The Lodging Tax Advisory Committee recommended that the City Council award the Destination Marketing contract to local firm WanderFuca, a downtown co-working space run by Kylan and Breck Johnson—who plan to boost tourism with their strategic team.
