- ➤ Peninsula Daily News Editor Brian McLean and Publisher Eran Kennedy cut ceremonial ribbons on Thursday in front of the newspaper’s new building at 1102 E. First St. in Port Angeles—employees and chamber ambassadors from Port Angeles and Sequim-Dungeness marked the event. Peninsula Daily News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Peninsula Trails Coalition named Ann Livingston as its first executive director and she will start work in October on expanding the Olympic Discovery Trail—aiming to strengthen community connections. Livingston will move to the area in November and work with local volunteers to build on the coalition’s past successes. Peninsula Daily News
- ➤ Sequim City Council was threatened with a lawsuit at Monday night’s meeting if it did not remove the Westbay project from a planning moratorium while staff update the Comprehensive Plan—attorney Kris Wilson said a 2019 directive was not followed. Seabrook officials also asked for Westbay to be excluded and warned that without a clear plan, they may reconsider their $1.4 million investment. My Clallam County

- ➤ Yesterday, the Port Angeles Roughriders won in swimming with a score of 124 to 49, capturing 11 of 12 events and sweeping all four relays while the girls finished first and the boys placed fourth in the Olympic League cross country meet.
