Chimacum Ridge Community Forest is open all year for hiking, biking, and nature study on nine trails at 1717 Center Road.

A celebration on Saturday drew 250 people and Jefferson Land Trust will improve access and manage the forest with annual harvests—like traditional cedar bark collection and tribal use.

At a housing market workshop Tuesday, local experts said Clallam County median incomes lag behind rising home prices—median home values jumped from $273,300 in 2018 to $513,000 now, leaving only 39 percent of residents able to afford a median-priced home.
