ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Forks may receive a $260,000 loan and a $675,000 grant, contingent on the city signing a lease with milling firm Riverside Forest Products — a company facing supply challenges — to upgrade its building and electrical systems; Clallam County commissioners said Gov. Bob Ferguson has awarded $200,000 and will hold a public hearing on Nov. 4 to review the project. Peninsula Daily News

- ➤ Port Angeles high school swimmers won a competitive meet against Sequim as Amayah Nelson, Lynzee Reid, Chloe Kay Sanders and Lizzy Shaw claimed top finishes with scores of 111 to 63, while the Peninsula Pirate women and men swept NWAC soccer with wins of 8 to 0 and 6 to 0. In football, Port Angeles lost in overtime to Bainbridge 14 to 13 and will face a tougher test on Saturday when the Roughriders meet the 3 to 3 Squalicum Storm. My Clallam County
