ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Clallam County officials are moving forward on funding a new sawmilling operation at Forks Industrial Park that will create up to 100 family-wage jobs once Riverside Forest Products USA finalizes a lease—this project includes a $260,000 loan, a $675,000 grant and $200,000 in state funds for key infrastructure improvements. The operation will produce kiln-dried hemlock and green Douglas fir lumber to help reduce local transportation costs and boost the timber sector. My Clallam County

- ➤ Scuba divers from Reef Check—an international NGO dedicated to conservation—recovered instruments from a buoy yesterday and stored them in a bucket to preserve data on salinity, pH, dissolved oxygen and temperature for kelp in 50°F water of the Salish Sea. Peninsula Daily News
