- ➤ The Brinnon Fire Department celebrated graduation for six teen cadets from Brinnon, Quilcene, and Lilliwaup who completed one to three years of fire and emergency response training during the Fire Commission meeting—State Sen. - ➤ Port Angeles will host the Winter Lights Install Party on Sunday, October 19th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Volunteers meet at the Dyar Fountain on First and Laurel with work gloves and a ladder—extra supplies like scissors and tape measures are provided—while enjoying home baked cookies. - ➤ Judge Brent Basden ruled that the City must reexamine its permit process for Platypus Marine’s new boat facility on Marine Drive (after a court decision broadened the definition of marina). City staff received PMI’s permit documents late last week (and they are working quickly to review them so the project can move ahead). My Clallam County
- ➤ The City of Port Angeles secured a $1.5 million grant to finish the next phase of the Race Street corridor. City Manager Nathan West said the funds will close the construction gap from 8th Street to 2nd Street — connecting key community sites and featuring a new bikeway, with work set to begin in 2027. - ➤ Port Angeles girls soccer won 3–0 over Olympic Tuesday night as coach Dan Horton gave every player varsity minutes and the team outshot the opponent 23–1—Emma Desjardins scored twice while Mariah Traband added the final goal.
