- ➤ The North Olympic Land Trust named the Sequim Farmers and Artisans Market and the Port Angeles Farmers Market as 2025 Farmer of the Year—an honor that recognizes their key role in supporting local farmland and food supply. - ➤ Sequim's Irrigation Festival has unveiled a new 2026 theme as a friendly Kraken rises near New Dungeness Lighthouse to welcome sailors, according to festival director Michelle Rhodes. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ County officials said that the Clallam County Recompete program— which uses an Economic Development Administration grant to boost local job creation—may be frozen on Nov 30 if the shutdown continues; they warned that reducing funding from $118,000 to as low as $60,000 could force partners like Peninsula College to face cash-flow risks and possible furloughs. The commissioners will revisit the issue in a few weeks if the shutdown persists. Peninsula Daily News

- ➤ Local high school football teams had a rough night—Port Angeles was shut out 21-0 by Bremerton and Sequim lost 42-32 to Bainbridge with quarterback Rowen Meek scoring three touchdowns, while Sequim seniors will play North Mason and Port Angeles will face Olympic on Thursday.
