GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Clallam County commissioners are reviewing an agreement that would give people leaving jail better health care by partnering the Sheriff’s Office with North Olympic Healthcare Network — the plan will offer inmate screenings within 24 hours, twice-weekly clinics, and help with medication-assisted treatment for substance-use disorder from December until November 2028. The county will only cover clinic space and software costs while Medicaid covers the needed care. My Clallam County
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Olympic Medical Center presented a draft 2026 budget that projects a $7.5 million loss but yields a positive cash flow when depreciation is added — the interim CEO and CFO said the funds will support capital improvements and debt reduction, and a revised draft will be reviewed at the board meeting on November 19. The hospital is also talking with UW Medicine about a possible partnership and has sealed a 10-year lease with Shore Aquatic Center for a local building. Peninsula Daily News
