- ➤ Carnegie Corporation will give $10K each to the Carnegie libraries in Port Angeles and Port Townsend to mark the nation’s 250th birthday, with funds coming early next year. Local leaders said they will use the money for community programs and to improve building access—steps that honor the libraries’ long history. Peninsula Daily News
- ➤ The Clallam County Veterans Association will host a Veterans Day ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the auditorium at Port Angeles High School after moving the event from the Coast Guard Air Station because of a government shutdown. The program will feature music by the high school band and choir, a rifle salute from local military groups, a speech by retired Navy Capt. Mike Hakanson, and refreshments by the Daughters of the American Revolution—Sequim will hold a free Veterans Appreciation Afternoon on Monday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Peninsula Daily News
