- ➤ The Port Angeles School District and Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe renewed a two-year agreement to expand Native American education and cultural programs. Leaders detailed plans to enhance language and history classes and improve attendance for Native American students. Peninsula Daily News
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Dr. Anne Shaffer from the Coastal Watershed Institute told the Port Angeles Kiwanis Club that beaver dams slow water flow and help salmon on the Elwha River—studies show beavers appear in fall, winter, and spring but face conflicts in summer with dogs and people. Local landowners now back the project as the institute uses the work to teach young scientists. Peninsula Daily News
