- ➤ Port Angeles’ 35th Annual Festival of Trees kicked off Tuesday evening on the Vern Burton Community Center lawn with a snow-making machine, large set pieces from Westlake Park, and a performance by the Port Angeles City Ballet, and the event—Olympic Medical Center Foundation’s biggest fundraiser—will continue with Teddy Bear Teas on Friday, a Gala dinner and tree auction, a Senior Breakfast, and family activities on Saturday and Sunday. - ➤ Nearly two dozen EMTs and first responders gathered at Field Arts — Events Hall on Monday for a daylong COAST training to improve responses to mental health and overdose crises. - ➤ The Port Angeles Roughriders swept Sequim 7-0 in high school bowling with a total of 1,551 pins to 1,212 as Zoey Van Gordon led with a high game of 175. The Peninsula Pirates won their first NWAC women’s basketball game over Highline 66-37, led by Alecsis Smith’s 29 points and 15 rebounds + they will host Chemeketa on December 5 during the three-day Pirates Classic + Roughriders are set for radio broadcasts on December 6, 9 and 16.
