PORT ANGELES — The Peninsula Daily News is hosting its second online Festival of Trees contest so locals can vote for their favorite Christmas tree from Olympic Medical Center Foundation’s event, which runs until Dec.
25. Votes count as entries into a drawing for a prize package—winner will be announced on Dec. 31.

Clallam County leaders reviewed the Noxious Weed Control Board’s annual report on invasive plants.
Coordinator Christina St. John reported the board completed 82 treatments, 605 inspections, 287 letters and 61 tours—while a 7-acre infestation near Port Williams and shiny geranium growth led to a $2,500 grant for 2026 treatments.
