📰 Economy
A year into the federal Recompete grant, 208 residents enrolled while 21 got jobs and 77 joined training.
County officials say the year focused on building the program despite delays in projects such as the Recycling Technology Center unit (expected late 2026).
🌲 Environment
The U.S. Navy and Coast Guard launched an environmental review of training and testing activities in Northwest waters including the Strait of Juan de Fuca and are accepting public comments until January 19.
A draft report will be released in September.
🏈 Sports
The Port Angeles Roughrider bowling team lost 7-0 to Klahowya after posting a season-best 718 with Zoey Van Gordon scoring a match-high 376, and they will travel to Olympic on Thursday.
The Roughrider girls' basketball team will face defending Bainbridge tonight with pregame coverage starting at 6:45.
