- ➤ Firefighters from Clallam County Fire Districts 2 and 3 and the Port Angeles Fire Department rescued a 60-pound husky mix named Rip who fell into a 10-foot deep, 2-foot wide sinkhole on the 600 block of Power Plant Road Saturday using a ladder rescue method (the dog appeared uninjured though shaken). - ➤ Clallam County Sheriff’s detectives arrested Pralay Kumar Kar in Bothell on March 21 — he is the second suspect in a scam that defrauded a 71-year-old Sequim resident of $125,000 by having her send money to someone posing as a federal agent. My Clallam County

- ➤ Clallam County commissioners are split over a plan to fund local arts and heritage programs with a one-tenth of 1 percent sales tax, with Commissioners Ozias and French in support while Commissioner Johnson opposes it due to weak economic conditions + potential tourism impacts.
