- ➤ On Thursday, five Clallam County residents will receive the 2025 Community Service Awards at the Port Angeles Senior—Community Center with a reception at 6:30 p.m. and the program at 7 p.m. The awards honor Heidi Simpson, John and Karolyn Burdick, Sherrilyn Phillips, and Paul Forrest for their significant volunteer work in the community. - ➤ At a recent Port Angeles School Board meeting, principal Rhonda Kromm explained that the district’s special education services have grown to serve 658 students—projected to exceed room capacity next month—so a new classroom will be added this fall.
