Sequim’s 130th Irrigation Festival runs May 2nd to 4th at Carrie Blake Community Park and offers family events including live music, a kids parade, an indoor trashion show and Sequim High’s production of Oklahoma!

Today live music begins at 9:30 a.m.—culminating in a free community concert and dance at 6 p.m.

Five top volunteers from Clallam County were honored on Thursday night at the Port Angeles Senior and Community Center with the 2025 Clallam County Community Service Award—recognizing decades of service in areas like conservation, education, and beautification.

Next year, the award program will also honor three young volunteers to spotlight youth community service.

Singer-songwriter Matt Butler performed at Clallam Bay Corrections Center during his weeklong residency, playing for 23 gang dropouts in the Safe Harbor unit—he earned supportive responses from inmates.

He will perform at Field Hall in Port Angeles tonight at 7 p.m.—the show is part of his ongoing residency.

State lawmakers passed bills to boost special education funding and limit rent increases, with the cap allowing a 7 percent rise adjusted for inflation or a 10 percent maximum for most units and a 5 percent limit for mobile parks—part of a $78 billion spending plan that also funds a DNR study of the Elwha River watershed. The bills now await Gov. Bob Ferguson’s signature by May 20.

Sequim's baseball team beat Forks 15-9 on May 2 as a late surge produced eight runs in the sixth inning—pitcher Devyn Dearinger and hitter Hunter Tennell led the win.

In girls tennis, Sequim won six of seven matches against Port Angeles while Peninsula College signed shooting guard Kimberlee Brown from Orem.
